Senior Legal Worker and Coordinator of Open Records Project

Ian Head is a Senior Legal Worker and Coordinator of the Open Records Project at the Center for Constitutional Rights, where he works on policing, racial justice, immigrants' rights, and prisoners’ rights issues. Ian has significant experience in Freedom of Information Act and open records requests and litigation, and coordinates the Open Records Project at the Center for Constitutional Rights, leading trainings and developing resources for activists, lawyers, and journalists. Major cases Ian has worked on include Floyd v. City of New York, National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) v. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), Color of Change v. FBI, and Detention Watch Network v. ICE.  He is co-editor of the Jailhouse Lawyers Handbook, a widely-requested resource for prisoners.
