Biography

Ibraham Qatabi joined the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) in September 2008.  He is a legal worker for the Guantánamo Global Justice Initiative and helps coordinate a large network of pro bono counsel representing Guantánamo detainees.  He works with clients from across the globe.

Mr. Qatabi has lived and traveled in the Middle East for many years and is an expert on Yemen.  He is fluent in Arabic. 

Prior to joining CCR’s staff, he interned in the Terrorism/Counter-Terrorism section at Human Rights Watch in New York.  He is also involved in other community service work. 

Mr. Qatabi graduated cum laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York, where he earned a BA in international criminal justice with a certificate in dispute resolution, and a minor in government.
