CCR proudly endorses the Citywide Cop Watch Training Series happening between September 30th and October 30th, and we encourage all New Yorkers to RSVP and attend. Every day we see and hear of more and more cases of police brutality. Eric Garner (Staten Island), Alejandro Rodriquez (Queens), Ronald Johns (Harlem), Rosan Miller (Brooklyn), and Santiago Hernandez (Bronx) are all New Yorkers who were brutalized or killed by the NYPD in 2014 alone. We know about their cases because there is video documentation, taken by brave New Yorkers.

Monitoring and documenting the police – a practice known as “Cop Watch” – helps gather evidence of police misconduct and can help deter and de-escalate brutality. However, Cop Watching is not without risks and is not always easy to do. That's why CCR supports the New York Citywide Cop Watch Training Series.
