Please join event sponsor Call to Action - New York and Alex Gibney on April 11th to support the important work of Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP). There will be an evening cocktail reception, award ceremony and panel discussion. RSVP required. Please see flyer below for RSVP information.

SNAP is a survivor-led organization, and its mission is to protect children and bring perpetrators and those who shield them to justice, in order to stop them from hurting children in the future. CCR is representing SNAP in its efforts to seek accountability for these crimes through mechanisms of international justice. Panelists:

  • Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, Archdiocese of Detroit: A member and strong supporter of SNAP, Bishop Gumbleton has been outspoken on many peace and justice issues and more recently about his own experience as a survivor of sexual abuse.
  • Barbara Blaine, founder and President of SNAP: A survivor of sexual abuse by clergy, Barbara founded SNAP in 1988 to provide support for other survivors and to publicize the issue in order to prevent abuse in the future.
  • Alex Gibney, Director of Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God: Gibney's film documents pedohilia within the Catholic church and focuses on the case of children at a school for the deaf in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
