Jackson water partner speaks with United Nations Special Rapporteur in Atlanta

In November, our board member and Jackson water partner Makani Themba, accompanied by Emily Early, Associate Director of our Southern Regional Office, attended and spoke at a convening hosted at the Carter Center in Atlanta for the United Nations Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism to discuss the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi, as well as other manifestations of systemic racism in Jackson that suppress democracy and self-determination of Jacksonians. We continue to pursue all avenues, including international fora, to seek justice with the people of Jackson.
