CCR Advocacy Program Manager Nahal Zamani will join other advocates and activists on a panel at the US Human Rights Network (USHRN)'s biannual national human rights conference Advancing Human Rights 2015: Sharpening our Vision, Reclaiming our Dreams. Panelists, who are working to protect the rights of communities of color in the US and Israel/Palestine, will share lessons learned and present case studies of effective local work and transnational movement building. With a focus on efforts to end police violence, militarization, and systemic discrimination, presenters will address challenges in securing accountability and lead discussions on creative ways to uplift local issues through law, community mobilization, video, and transnational organizing.
