Location

Please join CCR in New Orleans on Wednesday, August 10th at 10:00 am for oral argument in Doe, et al. v. Jindal, et al.,  a federal civil rights complaint challenging the Crime Against Nature statute that brands people who solicit or agree to oral and anal sex as sex offenders and forces them to register as a sex offender

What: Oral Argument in Doe v. Jindal
When: Wednesday, August 10, 10:00 AM (arrive by 9:30 AM for security and seating).
Where: United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, 500 Poydas, Courtroom C 551, New Orleans, 70130

In June 2011, legislation was signed into law that will ensure that people charged under the Crime Against Nature statute will no longer be forced to register. However,  this law does not apply to the hundreds of people currently on the registry solely because they were prosecuted under the statute in the past. Those living branded with this modern-day scarlet letter continue to suffer the burdens of this injustice. Join CCR and pack the courthouse to show your support for their removal from the registry.
