Webinar: Sweet Tea with Transparency: an open records resource for movements in the South

Date

Add to My Calendar Thursday, March 28, 2024 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Location

Please join the Center for Constitutional Rights for a webinar with staff from our Southern Regional Office and Open Records Project. We’ll share more about our new resource, Sweet Tea With Transparency: an open records resource for movements in the South – a series of toolkits for activists, advocates, organizers, and community members in Southern states interested in obtaining public records from state government agencies or officials in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Louisiana.

In recent years, we have seen how open records requests can be extremely useful tools for local and national advocacy, the media, litigation, and organizing campaigns, such as the work the Center for Constitutional Rights continues to do in support of activists in Louisiana. Center for Constitutional Rights staff Emily Early, Jessica Vosburgh, and Ian Head will share more about these toolkits and how to effectively utilize open records requests in the South.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. Please email [email protected] by March 25 if you have any language and/or access needs.
