It's been one year since the killing of Eric Garner and over three years since the killing of Ramarley Graham. Despite welcomed news this week about a financial settlement between the Garner family and the City of New York, not a single NYPD officer has been held accountable for these killings, in fact, they are still getting salaries. As Emerald Garner, one of Mr. Garner's daughters, said at a press conference: "A settlement is not justice. Justice is when someone is held accountable for their crime." We agree.
