Center for Constitutional Rights Executive Director Vince Warren delivers his final lecture in his role as Burns Chair on April 30, 6 p.m. - 7 p.m at CUNY School of Law, 2 Court Square, Long Island City, NY. This event is in person only.

Vince will explore the local and global impact of two cases from the Center for Constitutional Rights’ advocacy around environmental justice and mass incarceration and discuss models of leveraging spheres of influence despite apparent obstacles. 

Vince will share lessons from decarceral efforts currently being led by formerly incarcerated advocates in Pennsylvania, Louisiana, New York, and California and presented to the United Nations in Geneva in relation to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Second, he will detail the Center for Constitutional Rights’ experience amplifying grassroots environmental activism from the area of Louisiana known as “Cancer Alley” to engage with the United Nations and the Biden administration.
