Join NYU Law School's Middle Eastern and North African Law Students Association (MENALSA) on Tuesday, April 9, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET, for their inaugural spring conference: Middle East, Law, and Practice. The conference will be in person in Greenberg Lounge, Vanderbilt Hall on West 3rd Street, New York, and live-streamed via Zoom.
This conference will be split into four content sessions: Environmental Law in the Middle East, Islamic Law's Influence on Legal Practice, Impact of Terrorism Laws: A Global Perspective, and a student paper workshop, followed by a networking reception. Center for Constitutional Rights Senior Staff Attorney Diala Shamas will join Impact of Terrorism Laws: A Global Perspective, a panel discussion on the weaponization of terrorism laws in the Middle East, the stifling of civil society, and challenges in Turkey, Europe, and the U.S.
